Soil - the most endangered natural asset.
- Impulse Lecture
In his lecture, Alternative Nobel Prize winner Prof. em. Dr. Michael Succow addresses the outstanding importance of soil. With Friedensreich Hundertwasser he emphasizes: "All civilizations have lasted as long as their humus. The Egyptian, Greek, Roman and many other civilizations came to an end when their humus came to an end. Our civilization will follow if we are not able to restore our incredibly thin layer of humus." Michael Succow is convinced that we need an immediate turnaround towards humus-building, climate-friendly and "grandchildren-friendly" agriculture - so that healthy food for healthy people can once again be produced on healthy soils.
Michael Succow, Prof. em., German biologist and agronomist. Main areas of research are moorland ecology and nature conservation.
