One World – One Water – One Health.
- Guided Tour
The idea of "One World - One Water - One Health" includes future prospects for the supposedly "free" and "guaranteed" access to water and the functioning of ecosystems. In this presentation I will talk about the availability, use and, security of water, ecosystems and food as well as future scenarios for water and ecosystems. The current increase in extreme weather events is causing floods, droughts and heat waves, putting pressure on land and water ecosystems and consequently on human health. These enormous problems require concerted efforts to enable access to water and proper ecosystem functioning.
Martin Kainz, Professor of Aquatic Ecosystem Research and Health at the University of Continuing Education Krems; and working group leader at the Lunz Water Cluster. Researches the functioning and health of freshwater ecosystems under different scenarios of global change.
